Matter
A Crestron Home platform driver that brings Matter devices over Wi-Fi or Ethernet into Crestron Home. The Matter controller runs on a Clume panel, not on the processor, and the panel talks to the driver on the local network.
What it does
- Publishes Matter devices as Crestron Home child devices. The Clume panel is the Matter controller and talks to the driver on port 9536.
- This release publishes three device classes: on/off lights, dimmable lights and on/off plug-in units. Other devices are held, and the page says why.
- Its own settings page on port 9536, opened from Setup for one hour and protected by a PIN, with Controller, Add a device, Devices, Rooms and Settings views.
- Commission a device by typing its manual pairing code or pasting its MT: text. Rename, identify, place in a room and remove from the page.
- After a reconnect the driver reads the device state and reports it. It does not send commands again; a command given while the link is down is delivered once, within 15 s.
- Configuration export and import.
Devices and protocols
- Matter over Wi-Fi and Ethernet
- A Clume 7 panel as the Matter controller
- Crestron Home on a CP4-R
- Tested device: SONOFF MINI-DIM, as a dimmer
Requirements
- A Clume panel with the Matter and Zigbee firmware. The panel needs one full reflash for it.
- Crestron Home on a 4-Series processor; the lab uses a CP4-R.
- A phone with a Matter commissioning app, for devices that have no pairing mode.
- A browser on the same network, for the settings page.
Limits to know before you install
- Works only with a Clume panel running the Matter controller firmware. The driver holds no Matter stack of its own.
- Three device classes only, and only the dimmable light is proven on hardware.
- No Thread devices: Wi-Fi and Ethernet Matter only.
- A device that fails the attestation check is still commissioned, with a warning.
- The settings page is plain HTTP and opens for one hour at a time. No camera QR scan.
- A driver version change wipes the data folder: export the configuration first.
- The panel's Matter key storage is still to be hardened before any customer install.
